With the release of the Lion OS X 10.7, Apple is slowly working toward iCloud compatibility for Macs.

Mac released a new update for Lion with update 10.7.1. Consisting largely of issue corrections and bugfixes, users will be alerted through Software Update, or can check to start the update themselves.

These fixes to “enhance the stability and compatibility of your Mac” include:

  • Address an issue that may cause the system to become unresponsive when playing a video in Safari
  • Resolve an issue that may cause system audio to stop working when using HDMI or optical audio out
  • Improve the reliability of Wi-Fi connections
  • Resolve an issue that prevents transfer of data to a new Mac running OS X Lion
  • Resolve an issue in which an admin user account could be missing after upgrading to OS X Lion

From the changes supplied, it looks like Apple is attempting to streamline and correct issues that might arise when iCloud is released for Mac.
