Apple TV+ has officially greenlit Neuromancer, a 10-episode adaptation of William Gibson’s 1984 novel, the book that helped define cyberpunk.
Graham Roland and JD Dillard are developing the series with Skydance Television, Anonymous Content, and DreamCrew Entertainment. Callum Turner will play Case, Briana Middleton has a lead role, and Drake is attached as an executive producer.
The story follows Case, a washed-up data thief pulled into one last job that drops him into AI, cyberspace, and corporate espionage. Fans have compared Neuromancer to Cyberpunk 2077, but there’s no official link between the two.
If you’re into modern sci-fi, this is one to watch. Gibson’s novel popularized the word “cyberspace,” influenced everything from The Matrix to video games, and after years of failed attempts to bring it to the screen, it may finally have the space it needs in series form.
It’ll stream on Apple TV+, though there’s still no release date.
