Many fans have begged Ubisoft to bring its Assassin’s Creed franchise to China after a fan created beautiful concept art for the game. Well Ubisoft finally has an Assassin’s Creed game that takes place in China, but it’s not what you think.
Assassin’s Creed Chronicles: China will be a downloadable title that is set in 16th century China. The game is a 2D side-scroller, which will disappoint fans who’ve been begging for a fully fleshed out Assassin’s Creed game in China. However, the artwork looks great and takes influence from traditional Chinese paintings.
You’ll play as Shao Jun, a female assassin and one of the last remaining assassins in the Chinese Brotherhood. Jun previously appeared as a student of Ezio Auditore in Assassin’s Creed Embers animated short.
Those who ordered the upcoming Assassin’s Creed Unity will get to play Assassin’s Creed Chronicles: China for free if they opt for a season pass. Season pass holders will also get more than 30 new weapons and customization options as well as an additional campaign called Dead Kings.
Assassin’s Creed Unity comes out November 11th in the US and November 13th in Europe for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
