Ever since Avatar: The Way of Water was released last December in theaters, fans of James Cameron‘s saga have been wondering when it will be released on streaming platforms. And we finally have a release date to watch it at home, with 4K quality and Dolby Atmos audio… but with a trick that no one expected.
It will be on March 28, 2023 when the film will be available for streaming in the United States (in Spain and LATAM we have not received any news about it), but it will not be available on Disney Plus. Although it is expected that at some point it will land on the platform, for now it will be available from Amazon Prime Video, Apple TV+, Vudu and Movies Anywhere after paying an extra price that has not yet been specified.

Where will Avatar 2 be released?
In return, the online version of James Cameron’s film will include up to 3+ hours of bonus content that will serve to complement the film experience. It will include 4 video documentaries explaining the making of the film, as well as 15 featurettes about the world of Pandora and the secrets of this magical place.
As if they were the old Blu-ray or DVD extras, those who pay the agreed price will be able to receive dozens of complementary contents to reinforce the film, in addition to being able to watch it in the best possible quality. However, this will surely cause its release on Disney Plus to be delayed even further.
It is not clear if all this content will also come to Disney+ when it is released on the platform. However, it has already been three months since its premiere, so the waiting time will most likely end up being compensated with a big launch on the VOD service of the house of the mouse.
