Batman: Arkham Knight still has no PS5 or Xbox Series X/S remaster: recent buzz is false

Batman: Arkham Knight still hasn’t received a PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X/S remaster. So if you’ve seen recent buzz, nothing has changed: there’s still no native current-gen version, no 4K overhaul, and no official 60fps console patch from Warner Bros. Games or Rocksteady.

What you can play on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S is the backward-compatible version from the game’s 2015 release on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. On Xbox Series X, Batman: Arkham Knight does get Xbox Auto HDR, but it still runs at around 900p and 30fps, with no official optimization.

A lot of the confusion comes from fan-made PC videos showing the game with Nvidia DLSS 5, and from Batman: Arkham Knight being included in Batman: Arkham Trilogy on Nintendo Switch, which came out on December 1, 2023. Those upgrades aren’t official, and the Nintendo Switch port was criticized at launch for sub-30fps performance, stuttering, and visual downgrades.

If you’re still playing Batman: Arkham Knight, a proper PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S remaster with 4K , 60fps, faster loading, and better visuals would be an easy one to pick up. That’s why fans keep asking Warner Bros. Games and Rocksteady for one, especially for a game that earned praise for its story, Kevin Conroy, and its visuals despite the launch bugs, and had sold more than 5 million copies by October 2015.

You can get Batman: Arkham Knight on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch.
