Battlefield 4 is continuing its rocky launch, with the first DLC pack ‘China Rising’ introducing new weapons that are too powerful and have unbalanced the game.

The SUAV (Small Unmanned Aerial Vehicle) and UCAV (Unmanned Combat Aerial Vehicle) are new gadgets, which can be unlocked for use in online multiplayer. Both give players a remote controlled weapon that can cause chaos on the Battlefield. The videos below show just how powerful these weapons are. Gadgets like this can really upset the balance of a game, and make it less enjoyable.

Battlefield 4’s online multiplayer has been riddled with problems since launch, with strained servers and players being ejected from games. Developer DICE has said it is pausing future projects while it fixes everything. Updates for the game on all platforms are coming, but neither EA nor DICE have been able to say exactly when they are coming. It’s an embarrassing start for a series that made its name with online multiplayer modes.

Players are still complaining about slow frame rates and jerky gameplay, even though this was identified during beta testing.

While big launches of online games are often troubled, but Battlefield has been very good in the past. 2013 has seen two other very high profile online disasters. Back in March the SimCity launch was an absolute disaster, while October’s release of GTA Online also saw a player go for days without being able to join games.
