PS5 fares best while Xbox Series X suffers worst drops

Beast of Reincarnation, Game Freak’s new RPG that came out this week, has stumbled badly out of the gate on both PC and consoles. Across its first few days, player reports have kept circling back to the same problems: stuttering, frame-rate drops well under the 60fps, visual glitches, and outright crashes.
Game Freak has said it’s aware of the issues and pushed a day-one patch, and some players say they’ve already had to download a 32GB update. Even so, the biggest problems don’t seem to have gone away. On PC, the game is hitting CPUs unusually hard, even on high-end machines. PlayStation 5 is the version people seem to trust most right now, while Xbox Series X has taken the most heat for especially bad frame-rate drops.
If you’re trying to squeeze better performance out of the PC version, turning down Volumetric Fog, Global Illumination, and Dynamic Fur Physics can help. So can switching on Nvidia DLSS or AMD FSR, especially if you’re playing at higher resolutions. That said, traversal stutter, micro-stutters, and those random little pauses still keep showing up, which points to deeper optimization issues.
As for where to play it, PlayStation 5 looks like the safest bet at the moment. Beast of Reincarnation is still probably worth picking up if you can live with rough performance, but there’s a catch: the striking art direction and quick, Sekiro-like combat keep running into visual bugs, a story that feels under-cooked, repetitive bosses and mechanics, and the lingering impression that this ambitious Game Freak RPG is simply in better shape than some recent Pokémon launches, not fully where it should be.
You can download Beast of Reincarnation on PC and consoles.
