Beats recently purchased back stock from HTC to expand the company beyond headphones and software associated with HTC smartphones. Now Beats is planning on launching Beats Music in the United States in coming months.
Like Spotify and Rdio, Beats Music will offer curated playlists offering a “real depth of personalization.” Luke Wood, president and COO of Beats, also said that Beats Music will “focus really heavily on playlists.”
Along with web access, Beats Music will support Android and iOS with connected apps and Windows 8 in the future.
It’s unknown what subscription costs will be associated with using Beats Music and with only a vague release date, it’s unknown exactly how Beats Music will compare with existing music streaming services.
