Brandon Sanderson claims that he has learned from the biggest mistake of 'Game of Thrones'

Brandon Sanderson has guaranteed creative control over the adaptations of his works, starting with Mistborn and The Stormlight Archive. This approach has been motivated in part by the lessons learned from the situation of George R. R. Martin and his saga A Song of Ice and Fire, where delays have become a story of frustration for fans.

Neither ice nor fire

Sanderson, who has signed an agreement with Apple TV to bring his Cosmere universe to the screen, has been transparent about his literary schedule, indicating that his next novel Ghostbloods, part of the Mistborn saga, is scheduled for 2028. He assures that there will be no indefinite pauses in his work due to the adaptations, reassuring his readers that the releases are planned. In his YouTube channel, the author explained that although the adaptations will take time away from him, he has everything under control and has already reserved space in his creative schedule for it.

Additionally, the writer will not only star as a screenwriter but will also serve as a producer and consultant, which is unusual among authors of his caliber. On his website, Sanderson has enabled a progress bar that currently shows 2% completion on the script for Mistborn, a gesture that reinforces his commitment to transparency.

While no imminent release dates or a defined cast are expected, Sanderson has asked his followers to remain calm, insisting that the Cosmere will continue to expand. Thus, readers can feel assured that his novels will remain his priority, without falling into the dreaded delays that often plague other literary adaptations.
