Cities: Skylines 2, the recently released title that came out with various performance issues, now has its first patch available on Steam, and it will soon be available to Xbox (Microsoft) users on PC as well. This city-builder, in this way, will see many of its launch problems fixed, such as game performance in terms of smoothness and stability, and various visual bugs.
Cities: Skylines 2 is the sequel to the title with the same name, and as a result of the problems it is having, the feelings of many users are somewhat bittersweet, since, in general terms, the game is far superior to its prequel in all aspects areas, but general performance issues have marred the experience for quite a few users.
A patch with many solutions
Cities: Skylines 2 has been released to become one of the benchmarks in the city-building genre, just like its predecessor. That’s why, after a tumultuous launch with numerous issues, the team publicly apologized and is working as quickly as possible to update all those game errors
The following problems or fixed errors appear in the patch notes that Cities: Skyline 2 has received:
- Improved performance consistency at high resolutions.
- Reduced volumetric fog
- Optimization and terrain touch-up.
- Lighting adjustments.
- Optimized stuttering when buildings appear or level up.
- Improved various stutters on all systems.
- Fixed the accidental closure when upgrading the wind turbine.
- Fixed the game closure after cars disappear when they collide with a truck.
- Fixed the game closure when loading low-resolution textures.
Cities: Skylines 2 is on Game Pass
Cities: Skylines 2 is one of the games that has arrived on day 1 to members subscribed to Xbox Game Pass, although the title can currently only be enjoyed on PC, through Steam or through Microsoft, whether purchased or with the subscription.
It is expected that the console version will arrive around mid-2024, so until then, this resource management game will remain exclusive to PC. In the meantime, during this period, the studio will make efforts to continue fixing the launch issues of Cities: Skylines 2 so that, before it arrives on consoles, the PC version is also in the desired state for its players.
