Claude now sends Gmail messages: replies and forwards arrive
Available on all paid plans, with send approval on by default

Anthropic has expanded Claude inside Google Workspace, and it can now do more than summarize Gmail threads or suggest draft replies. Claude can reply to emails, forward messages, and send them for you. The feature is available on every paid Claude plan, and it pushes Anthropic’s existing Gmail, Google Calendar, and Google Drive connector past inbox assistance into actual inbox action. By default, Claude still asks for approval before it sends anything.
Those new Gmail actions are included across all paid Claude plans. That closes the biggest hole in Anthropic’s current Gmail, Google Calendar, and Google Drive connector, which until now was better at helping you sort through your inbox than actually handle it. With this update, Claude moves from support role to action role.
Claude still asks for permission before sending anything unless you change the setting, but you can turn on sending without repeated approval. On Team and Enterprise plans, admins can control whether that option is available to users. That matters. A weak draft is annoying; a misunderstood message that goes out to a coworker, client, or other contact is a different kind of problem.
If you use Claude for routine replies, follow-ups, status updates, or forwarding messages, this is a useful update to pick up. There are limits, though. Anthropic’s Gmail connector only does something when you ask it to, or through a scheduled task. It doesn’t run on event-based triggers. It also reportedly supports just one Google account at a time.
You also have to factor in the security side, especially prompt-injection risks and the “ClaudeBleed” concerns tied to inbox access and connected data. That caution lands at a time when demand for email automation is climbing fast, from an estimated $896.13 million market in 2025 to $8.89 billion by 2035, according to one market estimate. If you want it, it’s available now through Claude’s paid Google Workspace integration.
