Copilot, Microsoft’s powerful AI, will arrive on these laptops very soon

Microsoft will expand the new features of its artificial intelligence, Copilot, to a broader range of laptops. After being available only on new laptops with Qualcomm chips, these AI features will reach devices powered by AMD and Intel processors starting in November, according to The Verge.

AMD has already released laptops that meet the hardware requirements for PC Copilot Plus, while Intel has announced their new Intel Core Ultra 200V processors, known as Lunar Lake. According to Intel, “all designs incorporating Intel Core Ultra 200V processors and running the latest version of Windows will be able to receive the features of PC Copilot Plus as a free upgrade starting in November.”

Among AI functions is the Microsoft automatic super-resolution, which directly competes with the popular DLSS that improves fps in video games by scaling content. The automatic super-resolution uses the neural processing unit (NPU) of these new PC Copilot Plus to offload processing from the CPU and GPU. In addition, the new laptops offer image co-creation functionalities, enhanced Windows Studio Effects, and task acceleration in applications such as DaVinci Resolve Studio.

Microsoft also plans to incorporate the AI features of Recall, whose arrival was delayed for security reasons. These features will be available to Windows Insider testers in October before their deployment on PC Copilot Plus in November.
