Liven up uTorrent and get a richer, fuller experience by taking advantage of uTorrent apps. Simply look at the left side of the uTorrent window and find the “Apps” menu. Here, you’ll find a list of all the apps that are available. Check back often, because developers are always in the process of working on new uTorrent apps. Here are just a few that are available already:

VLC Media Player App for uTorrent

Customize uTorrent With Apps

VLC Media Player has already made a name for itself as a leader in media. Now you can select and play any of the media that you have downloaded via uTorrent with the click of a mouse using the VLC app.

uMap to See the Locations of Your Peers

This is a cool app that allows you to view, on Google Maps, where the peers you’re connected to and the download source are located. It does, however, highlight that torrents are never fully private.

VODO Legal Movie Downloads

This app selects and features a single movie per month that users can download and view for free, completely legally. The movies are offered by their copyright holders, all of whom believe in peer-to-peer movie and content sharing. VODO does request a donation to the content creators, but it isn’t required.

uBrowse to Find the Torrent Files You’ve Downloaded

This app quickly and efficiently lists all of the files you have downloaded using uTorrent, including those that are still downloading and those that are complete. You can then open a file or browse the location by clicking on “Show”.

Torrent Tweet to See Tweets About the Torrent Files

Wonder what other people who have downloaded a particular torrent have to say about it on Twitter? With Torrent Tweet, you can see these conversations as well as post comments of your own. Of course, to post your own Torrent Tweets, you have to have a Twitter account.

uTorrent Game Apps

Bored waiting on all those downloads? Spice things up by playing a game on one of uTorrent’s game repositories, like Tetronimoes or Raptr. There is an entire page of available apps and games, so play around until you find what you like. If you decide you don’t like the apps you download, you can always uninstall. Just right click on the item in the Apps menu, and select “Uninstall App” when the menu pops up.
