PC users can prepare to die again on April 25th, when the dark fantasy RPG Dark Souls II is released. The news was released on the game’s official Facebook page, and if you pre-order the game you’ll get bonus items. It is released on Xbox 360 and PS3 on March 14th.

When the original Dark Souls was ported to PC, it got a lot of criticism from gamers for it’s relatively low resolution of 720p. Developer From Software isn’t making the same mistake twice. Dark Souls 2 on PC ‘will benefit from PC capabilities with increased texture resolution and an enhanced frame rate option’, and the controls have been carefully adapted for keyboard and mouse. The delay for the PC version is due to these enhancements.

Pre-orders of the physical version will get the soundtrack and early access to ‘the Black Armour Weapon Set, while Steam pre-orders get the same plus digital art book and comic book.

Dark Souls II is a role playing game (RPG), where you play an undead character on a journey to get rid of a curse. Like its predecessor, we expect it to be extremely challenging, with a bleak, lonely atmosphere. Despite the change in game director, it seems that the essence of what made Dark Souls so popular has been maintained for this sequel.
