This time next month, you’ll be dead. You’ll be dead in gloriously remastered HD graphics though, so it won’t be all bad. Dark Souls: Remastered is now available for pre-order and will be out this time next month, on May 25.

Dark Souls has built up a huge following online for being the hardest game people have ever played. A quick browse through Steam reviews shows that the frustration of dying all the time doesn’t get close to the fun offered by the gameplay.

Evan, who has logged over 208 hours on Dark Souls, says:

“This game has completely taken over my life and I don’t regret it at all. From the darkness of the Depths, to safety of Firelink Shrine, to the beautiful city that is Anor Londo. The journey you take in this game is fantastic… At this point I have yet to find another game that beats Dark Souls in terms of gameplay mechanics.”

McRoodyPoo, with a whopping 921 hours under his belt, says simply:

“Firstly, look at my hours played.

Got it? Good..

This game is amazing.”

Remarking on the difficulty of the game, Sloshy takes a more philosophical view of what video games can offer the modern gamer:

“I’ve learned more about controlling my emotions from this game than any other point in my life.”

Dark Souls really is a marvel and with the remastered graphics offering a fresh and updated spin on the classic. It is a worthy addition to any gamer’s collection. Whether you’re a hardened swordsman or an innocent rookie, you will find hundreds of hours of terrifying fun waiting for you with the release of Dark Souls: Remastered on May 25. Just know: you are going to die, but so is everybody else!
