Developer Kabam has finally provided a release date for the highly anticipated mobile game, Disney Mirrorverse. It looks like we can expect to see it in iOS and Android app stores as soon as June 23, 2022.

From what we’ve seen in the trailer, it appears that a whole lot of action is headed our way.

At its core, Disney Mirrorverse presents beloved characters from the brand in a new way. You may see Jack Sparrow from Pirates of the Caribbean or Scrooge McDuck from Ducktales, but they aren’t as you remember them. Some are more sinister while others have different abilities. Think of it as the Marvel multiverse for the Disney universe.

There are also some environmental aspects that look to be entertaining. For example, you’ll be able to craft a shield from a door. It’s at least slightly more pragmatic when compared to summoning a wall from nowhere like in Fortnite. Of course, with the Resistance being the main focus in Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 2, crafting structures is all but gone now.

Back to Disney Mirrorverse, the gameplay is similar to Kabam’s other mobile titles. You’ll have a team of dark or light characters that you’ll use to attack, but you can set the actions to automatic if you don’t want to control them. Without about 40 characters to unlock, you’ll have plenty to discover in the lengthy story.

The game delivers an exciting new take on Disney characters, which makes us think of a similar attempt with the Disney Infinity platform a few years ago. There’s nothing wrong with rehashing characters and lore from scratch, especially when fans love it. Warner Bros. has been doing the same with the beloved Mortal Kombat and DC characters for years.
