Do you spend a lot of time playing video games? Now everyone will be able to know it thanks to this Discord feature

Discord has released a new update that improves the functionality of its platform, adding options that are very similar to those offered by services like Steam. Now, users can see what games their friends have played in the last 30 days, a significant change from the previous functionality, which only showed what video game the user was playing while connected.

This new feature of Discord allows users to check the statistics of the games they have played through a specific tab on each player’s profile. However, those who prefer to keep their activity private can disable this option in the privacy settings.

The update not only includes improvements in the visibility of gaming activity, but also greater integration with other services and platforms. Subscribed users to Amazon Music Unlimited can now share music and podcasts through the Listening Party feature in chats and voice calls. Additionally, Amazon Music’s playback history will be recorded in the user’s profile, with the possibility of accessing a three-month free service trial through Discord.

The connectivity with video game consoles has also been improved, allowing Xbox players to see their friends’ active voice channels and gaming sessions without using the mobile app. This improvement is added to the integration with PlayStation 5, which was released in June and allows users to talk to each other through Discord without needing a separate device.

Another standout feature is the connectivity with Roll20, an online tabletop gaming platform, which allows users to link accounts, access campaigns, and check character statistics directly from Discord. Lastly, the update has added a highly anticipated feature: the option to resize the picture-in-picture window, which will significantly enhance the experience for users who want to engage in other activities on the platform while having a video call.
