Many of us have grown up playing what are now considered classics. And among the greatest classics is Dino Crisis, one of Capcom’s great games. For those who don’t know it, Dino Crisis is a series of survival horror and action-adventure video games created by the legendary Shinji Mikami.

A fan is developing a Dino Crisis remake based on Unreal Engine 5. A playable demo is already available for download, allowing fans to try out this remake for themselves.

The remake of Project Crisis is being developed by a single developer, Stefano Cagnani, so one should not expect the same level of quality as other fan projects where multiple people are working.

Even so, the demo remains an interesting way to see how the classic survival horror would look and play using more modern technology. The demo can be downloaded here.

This is Project: Crisis, the Dino Crisis Remake

Despite being a much-loved classic, CAPCOM has not shown much interest in remaking the first installment of Dino Crisis to date.

In August, the producer and director of the original game, Shinji Mikami, spoke about the franchise and stated that the success of the Monster Hunter series reduced the need for a new installment, a strange claim considering that both franchises have nothing in common.

However, since CAPCOM revived one of its most beloved series that hadn’t seen a new installment in a long time, Dead Rising, there is still hope for a remake of the original Dino Crisis in a similar manner.

While waiting for CAPCOM to revive the series, PlayStation 5 owners will soon be able to enjoy the original Dino Crisis on their console, as the game will be added to the PlayStation Plus classics list this month.
