Dropbox wants to help you organize all your photos with the Carousel app. The app automatically syncs photos from your phone to Dropbox and puts them in an event-based timeline. The Dropbox app already offers auto-uploads but doesn’t offer Carousel’s organizational tools. Users can upload other photos to Dropbox to add to their Carousel.

Users can share their Carousel photos with friends and family, regardless if they have a Dropbox account. The app also allows users to chat privately “as a way to relive entire events with friends and family.”

While Carousel isn’t limited to the space you have on your phone, it is limited to how much space you have in Dropbox. Basic users are limited to 2GB of free storage while competitors like Google offer 15GB free. Flickr offers the most free space with 1TB of storage.

Where Carousel excels is in its ability to organize your photos. You can scrub through time and easily find events. Those looking for an easier way to browse their photo libraries will want to give Carousel a try. There’s no Carousel desktop or web app yet, which may stop serious photographers from using it.

Dropbox also announced Mailbox for Android today, helping to organize users’ email inboxes. A Mac version of Mailbox is in the works and you can sign up here.
