Early access for the new game from the creative director of Assassin’s Creed and Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time gets a date

Panache Digital has announced the early access release date for 1666: Amsterdam. Set for August 25 on Steam and the Epic Games Store, this singular adventure will let us experience life between 1666 and 1999 to discover the secrets of a ritual and the relationship between the characters involved across the different time periods.

A game full of magic

What’s most interesting about it is that it’s directed by Patrice Désilets. If his name doesn’t sound familiar, you may recognize him as the creative director of games like Assassin’s Creed and Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time, and more recently Ancestors: The Humankind Odyssey. This is his first game as director.

The game, which will be a mix of adventure and action, promises that it will put a strong emphasis on storytelling and that every decision we make will change the fate of our characters. Plus, playing as a witch in 1666, we’ll have all kinds of powers: from petrification spells to levitating, flying, and using our broom in combat. We’ll see in less than two weeks how they’ve managed to pull it off.
