Frontier’s Kickstarter-funded Elite: Dangerous is now available for pre-order at $50. Currently in beta, Elite Dangerous is slated for a 2014 release on Windows PC.
The first Elite game for almost 20 years, Dangerous is the fourth in the series. You can still enter its beta program for $75, but apart from early access, what you get is no different to the launch pre-order ‘mercenary’ version:
• A digital download of Elite: Dangerous
• Your very own Eagle fighter ship docked in a secondary location in-game
• Exclusive pack of ship paint jobs
• A ‘day one’ ship decal
• A digital players guide
• A digital concept art book
Elite: Dangerous, like its predecessors, is a sandbox game set in space. Development will continue after release, with more features, like being able to exit your ship and walk around space stations, as well as landing on and exploring planets. These will mostly be paid DLC updates.
