When we think of lamps, we imagine rigid, immobile structures with limited color and control options. However, the brand Eve challenges this perspective with its new innovation: the Eve Flare. It is a portable lighting device that combines functionality, design, and adaptability to transform any space into a stage of light, color, and customization. This device has been so successful that it has now reached its second version.

A luminous globe wherever we go

The Eve Flare is a lamp with a spherical shape, measuring approximately 30 to 35 cm in diameter. It resembles a luminous globe and stands out immediately for its ability to light up with just a command to Siri, thanks to its integration with Apple’s HomeKit network.

Its construction allows for both indoor and outdoor use. The Eve Flare features a frosted finish, adding an extra touch of elegance and durability to withstand possible friction. The diffused and uniform light it emits creates a harmonious and pleasant ambiance. Thanks to its charger design, the Eve Flare can be used while connected to a power source or through its built-in battery, which can be charged via a wireless base.

Although externally this new Eve Flare appears identical to the previous version, it comes with a series of significant improvements. One of the notable enhancements is the battery life of up to six hours. In my tests, however, I have managed to extend the autonomy to approximately eight hours by slightly reducing the brightness. Additionally, we don’t need a Wi-Fi connection to control the lamp from our iPhone. And if necessary, the Eve Flare has buttons to turn the light on and off, as well as to quickly change its color.

Moreover, the outer cover has an IP65 water resistance certification. When combined with the ability to set timers or automations from HomeKit with iOS 16 and iOS 17, we have a truly versatile product.

HomeKit and Thread support to give us the best options

Whether for indoor or outdoor lighting, the Eve Flare proves to be a fantastic option for the summer. It can easily illuminate a picnic table, a porch, or the living room. While it may not last the entire night, it adds an elegant touch to any gathering. The new version of the Eve Flare includes support for Thread, a significant enhancement that allows for much faster control of turning on, off, and adjusting the settings of the lamp. Giving a command to Siri or making an adjustment in the Home app on our iPhone now results in an almost instantaneous response from the lamp. It’s an improvement that is noticeable from the very first moment and quickly becomes second nature.

Whether hung from its small metal piece or placed on any surface, including the charger, the Eve Flare is designed to add a touch of color to any room. I must say that it is not a study or reading light, but it provides enough illumination to create the desired atmosphere in each moment.

The neutral design of the Eve Flare, its portability thanks to the built-in battery, and the option to hang it make it an incredibly flexible and versatile lighting piece. It can transform a room in the morning, accompany an outdoor dinner on the terrace, or provide soft lighting in the living room during the evening.

Eve Flare is not just a lamp; it is a portable and flexible lighting solution that brings a world of color possibilities to our spaces. Its simple, elegant, and adaptable design makes it suitable for any environment, while its battery life and versatile control options give it a significant advantage. Undoubtedly, it is a smart choice for those of us looking to take our lighting to the next level.
