The quintessential millennial TV phenomenon is back once again. While Operación Triunfo may not always have achieved sky-high ratings, the truth is that the interest it generates has never completely disappeared.
The show that launched the careers of artists like David Bisbal and Bustamante has switched between TVE and Telecinco. However, now we will see it for the first time on Amazon Prime.
What do we know about Operación Triunfo 2023?
After more than 20 years since its first broadcast (which is no small feat), Operación Triunfo has had three editions on TVE and five on Telecinco. Some time later, we witnessed the reunion of the first edition after 15 years. This reignited interest in the format and as a result, we experienced the comeback of OT in 2017. With Roberto Leal as the host, that edition saw talents like Aitana, Amaia, Ana Guerra, and Lola Índigo emerge. Many will surely remember it as one of the best and most successful editions in terms of its contestants.

The latest memory we have of Operación Triunfo is seeing Nia crowned as the winner in 2020. Now, three years later, the acclaimed show is ready for its reinvention on Amazon Prime Video.
Furthermore, we already know that this edition will air between late 2023 and early 2024. Of course, there will be live galas (which you can only watch if you’re subscribed to Amazon Prime Video) and the famous 24-hour channel, which will be streamed on YouTube. In addition to these platforms, Twitch and TikTok will also join in, where we can see more content related to the “triunfitos” (contestants of Operación Triunfo). And if that wasn’t enough, fans of the format will be able to enjoy a new daily show that will reveal everything that wasn’t captured by the Academy cameras.
Among some new features, we will have the return of Chenoa, but this time as a host (no, we won’t experience another case like Geno’s). Indeed, a lot has happened since the edition she was a part of. Alongside Chenoa, we will also see a new teaching team, of which only Manu Guix, Vicky Gómez, and Mamen Márquez have been retained, already recognized figures within Operación Triunfo.

We also know how the new galas will be: from now on, their duration will not exceed 90 minutes. The reason for this is to make them “faster” and “get to the point,” in the words of Tinet Rubira. Additionally, Prime Video will broadcast two special galas where we will see the 18 finalists compete. From here, we will get to know the 14 future participants who will be seen week after week on Operación Triunfo. Lastly, this edition will also premiere a new set and runway, along with a completely revamped Academy.
What prize will the winner of Operación Triunfo 2023 receive?
In previous editions, Operación Triunfo has been associated with Eurovision. While we now have the Benidorm Fest, many still wonder if the contest’s prize will have any connection to Eurovision. However, the prize for the winner will not be related to the festival and will be solely monetary: a whopping 100,000 euros.
