A few days ago we talked about how for the nuclear bomb explosion, Nolan actually exploded a bomb in the middle of the desert to make it look real on camera. No CGI, Christopher Nolan likes just enough special effects.

For those who don’t know, the film is about physicist J. Robert Oppenheimer and his role as the developer of the atomic bomb. Based on the book ‘American Prometheus: The Triumph and Tragedy of J. Robert Oppenheimer’ by Kai Bird and Martin J. Sherwin.

Does Oppenheimer have a release date?

Shortly after Universal Studios announced their agreement as the new distributor for the director’s films, they announced that his new film will be released on July 21, 2023.

Oppenheimer will be Christopher Nolan’s first R-rated film in 20 years. His last R rating was for his 2002 film, Insomnia.

The R, according to the ratings system, stands for “Restricted,” and this implies that children under 17 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian to enter the theater, and in some cases are even prohibited from doing so. In Spain it is a For adults: +18.

Will Oppenheimer be released in theaters or streaming?

Oppenheimer will be released theatrically exclusively, and will be available in standard digital cinema projection, as well as in IMAX, 70mm and 35mm formats.

The film will open opposite another star-studded blockbuster from an auteur director, Greta Gerwig’s Barbie. We’ve talked about it a lot and very well, don’t miss it.
