A few days ago, we explained whether you should play this new title from Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio in case you haven’t played the previous installments. Today, we want to provide you with all the necessary information if you have bought or plan to buy Like a Dragon Gaiden as an import.

You might be wondering, “Why as an import? Can’t I buy it in any store, like the other Yakuza games?” The answer is: no, you can’t. For reasons not yet publicly clarified, Like a Dragon Gaiden has been distributed to the West exclusively in digital format, with the physical edition remaining exclusive to Asia.

However, in the midst of 2023, importing is a relatively straightforward process, so don’t worry. To begin with, if you’re wondering where you can buy Like a Dragon Gaiden as an import, you have several options. The most prominent ones are Xtralife, Play Asia, and Amazon Japan, all three being reliable websites firmly established in the market.

The first thing to consider is that depending on the website, you might be charged customs fees in addition to shipping costs. The only one that avoids this is the Spanish site Xtralife, where you’ll pay the price shown for Like a Dragon Gaiden on their website (plus the corresponding shipping costs).

Another crucial aspect for many users is the game cover. As it’s the Asian version, the cover of Like a Dragon Gaiden is written in Chinese characters, not in English. Both Play Asia and Amazon Japan ship the game as is, with that cover, but Xtralife will send the game with an additional cover in English.

Additionally, there’s the delivery date. For Play Asia and Amazon Japan, most users who pre-ordered Like a Dragon Gaiden are already receiving their games these days. However, those who pre-ordered from Xtralife will have to wait until November 24th due to the distribution of the alternative English covers.

If you decide to buy Like a Dragon Gaiden now, keep in mind that import shipments take longer than domestic or intra-community shipments, so brace yourself for some patience.
