facebook messenger chat headsAndroid Facebook users can finally rejoice. Facebook Messenger for Android is finally getting free voice calling, four months after it first debuted on iOS. Canadian Android users have had the feature since early March and now users in the United States are getting it too.

Voice calling works exactly the same as it does on iOS. To get to the feature, hop into Facebook Messenger, tap on the “i” icon to the top right, and tap on “Free Call.” If you have Chat Heads enabled, tap on the “more info” button (three dots) and you’ll see the option to open up the Messenger app before you can initiate a call. A dialer screen will pop up with your friend’s profile picture as the background.

The best part about this is that users won’t even need to update their apps if they recently updated to version 2.4.2, which brought the awesome Chat Heads feature that was showed off with Facebook Home. Facebook Messenger for Android probably has had the free voice call feature built in but disabled.
