Facebook ads are about to get larger ad images in your News Feed. In an attempt to get more users to pay attention to ads instead of ignoring them, ads on Facebook will be getting column-wide images. Even ads in the right side column of Facebook will be getting bigger thumbnail images. A Facebook spokesperson claims the photos are 3.5 times bigger.

In addition to adding larger ad images, Facebook is making ads more click-able by linking the text and image of the ad. Previously, text was not linked.

All this news is great for Facebook, of course, as they can increase the click-through rates of ads to make more money. For users, it can prove frustrating when accidentally clicking on text that links out to the advertiser’s site. While larger ads may certainly be annoying, they still won’t be as annoying as 15 second video ads.
