The Seville Fair is one of the most anticipated and celebrated events in the Andalusian capital. From last Sunday, April 23, the casetas del Real began to await the thousands of visitors with their pitchers of rebujito, plates of ham and tapas.

If you want to enjoy the Fair in very Sevillian ways, it is best that you stay and read the keys that will make you live an unforgettable experience.

Inside the Seville Fair

As every year, a small village rises from scratch near the neighborhood of Los Remedios. To get here, the best thing you can do is forget about cars: the metro, the bus and your feet will be the best options you will have to access without problems. In case of extreme need, you can always call a cab or use Uber or Cabify to get around.

To access the Real you will have to go through the entrance of the Feria, a place that leads to Antonio Bienvenida street, the biggest street of the Feria. If you do not have friends who have tickets for casetas, do not worry, because here you will find the public ones (unions, different districts of the city, etc).

Shall we meet at the entrance?

This year, the cover of the Fair is inspired by two emblematic buildings of Seville: the Plaza de España and the Coliseum Building (inaugurated as Teatro Coliseo España). The large structure is no less than 46 meters wide and 38 meters high, set under the slogan “Añoranza noche y día” (Longing night and day).

As of today, the April Fair in Seville has more than 1,050 booths, which added to the famous Calle del Infierno, we get about 450,000 square meters. To give you an idea, our dear @malacarasev made a comparison with the Bernabeu Stadium and the result was the following: “The April Fair corresponds to 12 Bernabeus”.

Here we leave you the map of the enclosure so that you do not get lost (or do it as little as possible). In any case, it doesn’t hurt to know the main streets of the Real:

  • Antonio Bienvenida Street
  • Ignacio Sánchez Mejías Street
  • José Delgado Guerra Street. Pepe Hillo’ Street
  • Manuel García Cuesta Street. Espartero’ Street
  • José Luis Vázquez Garcés Street. ‘Pepe Luis Vázquez’.

How should I dress for the Fair and what should I drink?

The Seville Fair has always been a very own festivity and as such, it has its own dress protocol. Traditionally, women dress in flamenco dress, although you can also go without it. In the case of boys, it is best to wear a jacket but without a tie.

To eat and drink at the Feria, you should be prepared and go with your pockets ready. If it is also your first time in the Real, you can not leave without trying at least a good glass of rebujito. The famous rebujito is composed of chamomile, soda (Sprite, Seven Up), mint and lots of ice. A mixture as good and cool as treacherous (who warns is not a traitor).

Let’s go to the rides

While there are those who spend the whole Fair changing booths like underpants, the truth is that there are some who prefer the excitement of Hell Street. The attractions and stalls that you will see scattered throughout the Fair will make both young and old have a great time.

The prices of the attractions tend to vary, but the average is around 4 or 5 euros. However, it will be on Sunday April 30 when the rides will be the cheapest: during the day, we can enjoy between 20-25% discount on each of them.
