Fast & Furious gets its first live-action TV series: Peacock targets 2028

Peacock has officially ordered a live-action Fast & Furious series for 2028. That would bring the franchise to TV in live action for the first time.

The target is 2028, which puts the show on roughly the same track as Universal’s Fast Forever, set for March 17, 2028. It also makes this the first live-action Fast TV project after the animated Fast & Furious Spy Racers. Mike Daniels and Wolfe Coleman are writing the pilot, and they’ll also serve as showrunners and executive producers. Vin Diesel is attached as an executive producer too, though there’s still no word on whether Dominic Toretto himself will actually show up on screen.

For fans, there’s real reason to keep an eye on it. Fast Forever is still the main event, especially after all the delays that followed Fast X’s cliffhanger. Production is expected to start in December. Louis Leterrier is directing, Michael Lesslie is writing, and Michelle Rodriguez, Jordana Brewster, Tyrese Gibson, and Ludacris are all still part of the conversation. Gal Gadot and Dwayne Johnson have also been teased as possible returns.

What’s missing right now is just as notable. There are still no official details on the Peacock series’ plot, characters, timeline, cast, or international rollout. Brian O’Conner remains the trickiest unresolved question, especially after Vin Diesel’s comments and Caleb Walker’s push for a careful, thoughtful approach. Peacock is the home for the series, and this could be the first real sign that Vin Diesel’s earlier talk of a four-show TV expansion wasn’t just talk, even if the reaction so far has been mixed.
