Fast X has already hit theaters and has become a huge phenomenon for Fast & Furious fans. The tenth installment of the saga starring Vin Diesel promised more action than ever and a spectacular villain: Jason Momoa’s Dante. Now, it is clear that expectations have been met and, although its score is not the best of the saga, they have delighted the audience with the action they wanted.
But what happens at the end of Fast X? As Diesel himself warned, the conclusion of the whole saga will come in three movies starting in this one, so the ending could not be as closed as some would like. That’s why we bring you this topic, to answer what the ending of Fast & Furious X means and what will happen next. Obviously, this is full of spoilers.
What happens at the end of Fast X?
Throughout the course of Fast & Furious X, it becomes clear that everything we thought wasn’t possible is possible in this franchise. Characters coming back from the dead, others changing sides… anything can happen, so we don’t know what will happen with the fate of Jacob, the character played by John Cena.
In his attempt to help Dominic Toretto (Vin Diesel) by clearing his path to make way for him against Dante and his crew, we see Jacob sacrifice himself and apparently die, rammed into dozens of rival cars. But we don’t get to see his corpse, so everything seems to indicate that he will survive one way or another.
On the other hand we have Roman (Tyrese Gibson), Ramsey (Nathalie Emmanuel), Han (Sung Kang) and Tej (Ludacris) being shot down in mid-flight. The plane in which they were traveling falls into the void, and it also looks as if they would die on the spot. However, we don’t see their bodies or what happens to them, so everything is set to be seen in the next film.
While this is going on, Dom and his son Brian fight Dante and are trapped. But, although Vin Diesel’s character tries to escape by driving through a dam, the place is covered with bombs surrounding him on all sides. Finally, we see Dom barely escape the place… or so it seems. But we won’t know until the sequel.
The fate of all the characters, therefore, remains up in the air to be seen in the next part. But there are also more surprises. After this scene we see how Gisele Yashar, Gal Gadot’s character, is alive. While Letty (Michelle Rodriguez) and Cipher (Charlize Theron) try to escape from Antarctica, they observe how a submarine emerges from the ice and, from its hatch, Gadot’s character appears.
This revelation makes it clear that anything can happen in Fast & Furious, for although she has been dead since the sixth installment, she apparently escaped her terrible fate in some way that has not yet been revealed to us. This may even be a preview of the next film. In it we will see how the different characters survive (or not, but for sure) after being shot down by Dante and his men.

Despite the fact that this movie has already brought back the most iconic characters of the saga, there was still someone to come… someone who split from the original franchise because of his disagreements with Vin Diesel and who seems to have reflected after what happened: Dwayne Johnson.
Luke Hobbs shows up receiving a call from Dante. After taking over (or not) the Toretto family, he threatens Hobbs for taking part in his father’s death. Thus, it is clear that Luke Hobbs will return to the saga and, by the looks of it, will have a vital role in the next installment.
Will he be the protagonist of Fast & Furious XI? Everything seems to indicate yes, and we will surely see Jason Statham’s character Deckard Shaw again. With them and Gisele Yashar, a new film is expected to be very, very ambitious. In fact, it seems to be on par with what Brothers Joe and Anthony Russo did with Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame. Will its ending be as epic?
