Flipboard, the popular social news magazine app, is finally making its way onto Windows Phone 8 and Windows 8.1. Nokia revealed that major apps like Flipboard, Vine, and Instagram are all coming to Windows Phone soon.
The app looks very much like its Android and iOS counterparts with a focus on text overlaid on large images. Users will be able to swipe to get to different stories with Flipboard’s iconic page flips. Windows Phone, Windows 8, and Windows RT users will get the ability to activate the Live Tile on the home screen for scrolling updates.
The Lumia 2520 tablet will be the first device to get Flipboard and the Lumia line of phones will get the app next. The roll out of Flipboard will be limited those devices at the start and will then make it to the Windows Phone Store later.
