Fortnite Battle Royale: How to play with your friends on PS4, Xbox One, PC, Mac, iOS, and Android

Fortnite Battle Royale is more fun with friends. The good news is that Epic Games lets you play with your friends on other platforms. The bad news is that this process remains a mystery for most people, since Epic hasn’t done a great job publicizing the steps. But that’s why we’re here!
Let’s start with Fortnite gamers on PS4, since it’s the most popular console on the market. To play with friends or link accounts, you just have to make an Epic Games account. Then, link your Epic Games account with your PlayStation Network account.
To link your PSN account with your Epic Games account:
- Go to the official Fortnite page
- If you’re logged in, click on “Close session”
- Now click on the profile to the left of “Get Fortnite”
- Select PlayStation
- Sign in with your PSN account details
- Complete the entire process to link them
- Don’t forget to add your friends on PC to your Fortnite friends list!

Your friends on PC will see you appear in their respective friends lists once you’re connected and they can ask you to join their games. Your PC friends also need an Epic Games account and have to run Fortnite from the official launcher.
What about Fortnite for Xbox One? You can also play with your friends on PC, Mac, iOS and, in the future, Android, by following the same steps as with PS4. Just on the official Fortnite page, you must select “Xbox.”
What about playing a game between PS4 and Xbox One? For now, we can’t do this and we doubt it will be possible in the future. Blame Sony. They don’t let PS4 users play with Xbox One or Switch users. This issue popped up with Rocket League and Minecraft… and Fortnite won’t be an exception.
Finally, taking these steps will not only let you play with users on other consoles, but also will link your progress on all versions of Fortnite you own. Two birds with one stone! Now get out there and get fighting!
