Fortnite’s Week 8 challenge set is shifting the focus away from combat with challenges that focus mainly on exploration and scavenging. It’s possible to complete multiple challenges on the list in a single match, so be prepared to do some serious traveling.

Fortnite Season 7 Week 8 Challenge Guide

Place a Cozy Campfire or Launch Pad in 3 different matches (3)

You’ll have to rely on a bit of luck for this one, as there’s no way to guarantee you’ll stumble upon a Campfire or Launch Pad during a match. You’ll simply have to do a lot of searching and hope you run across one of the items in question. Once you do, simply place it to progress the challenge. Do this in three different matches, and that’s a challenge complete.

Build Structures (250)

It’s time to polish off your harvesting tool of choice. You’ll have to do quite a bit of building to finish this challenge. Since wood is the most abundant resource, we recommend grabbing as much wood as possible and throwing up simple structures to progress the challenge. If you focus solely on harvesting and building, you should be able to finish this one over the course of a couple matches.

Search between a mysterious hatch, a giant rock lady, and a precarious flatbed

This riddle challenge will take you to the northwestern corner of the map, in the area around Wailing Woods. You’ll be seeking out three unique landmarks, then searching the area between them.

The mysterious hatch refers to this enigmatic landmark in the northwestern corner of Wailing Woods. Look for it near a cabin, in the midst of a small basin in the ground.

This giant rock lady should be easy to spot at a distance. She’s standing on a small hill on the southeastern edge of the woods, and usually guards a chest you can grab while you’re there.

The flatbed is hanging off the very edge of the map, almost due east of the rock lady. How it’s managing to hang on is a mystery.

Now that you have your three locations, head to a small hill with a dirt patch on the top, located at the edge of the woods between these landmarks. Once there, the battle star should appear in front of you. If you’re having trouble finding these locations, check out our map below:

Visit Locations:

This challenge tasks you with visiting a pair of specific locations over the course of a single match. They should be easy enough to knock off if you get your hands on a vehicle of some kind, such as an X-4 Stormwing. Here are the locations:

  • Visit Paradise Palms and Salty Springs in a single match
  • Visit Junk Junction and Loot Lake in a single match
  • Visit Haunted Hills and Wailing Woods in a single match

Search Chests at Shifty Shafts or Lonely Lodge (7)

This task is trickier than it may seem. Both locations are located near the maps central dividing line, meaning Battle Bus routes will often get close to these locations. That means they tend to be high traffic, so watch out for enemies as you search. Open 7 chests at either location to mark this challenge as complete.

Deal damage to opponents while riding in a vehicle (100)

We highly recommend grabbing an X-4 Stormwing to complete the challenge. With its mounted guns, the Stormwing is ideal for strafing opponents on the ground, and the cannons usually do 30 damage per hit. Land four good hits, and that’s one more challenge finished off.

Eliminate opponents with explosive weapons (3)

This final challenge tasks you with taking out opponents using explosive weapons. Consider hopping into a match of Team Rumble, where you can respawn as many times as you like and opponents are plentiful. Though any explosive weapon will do, the RPG is easy to aim and does quite a bit of damage, so it should be easy enough to knock off those eliminations. Even better, if you can land a few rockets on a group of opponents, you can theoretically finish this challenge in one go!

With Week 8 completed, only two weeks remain to finish out Season 7. Check back next week for our Week 9 guide, and more about what could be in store for Season 8.

They’ve probably been regretting that mistake ever since, because as soon he finished his first lap in Gran Turismo 3, Alex was hooked for life. In addition to writing for Softonic, Alex has turned that love of games into a voice acting career, and has voiced everything from grizzled old soldiers to vampire lords. When he's not gaming or getting behind the microphone, Alex can probably be found wandering the woods around Boston or putting together some new culinary delight in his kitchen.
