Fortnite Season 8’s second week of challenges is upon us. Most of this week’s challenge set is fairly straightforward, with the usual mix of elimination, exploration, and scavenger hunt type challenges. With the exception of a challenge involving the new cannon weapon, these should be pretty straightforward to complete. Check out our guide to see how to ace them all and grab yourself some Battle Stars.

Landing Challenge

A classic multi-stage landing challenge, simply drop in at the following locations to check it off the list.

  • Stage 1: Land at the Block
  • Stage 2: Land at Dusty Divot
  • Stage 3: Land at Polar Peak
  • Stage 4: Land at Snobby Shores
  • Stage 5: Land at Paradise Palms

Deal Damage to descending Supply Drops (200)

We recommend jumping into a match of Team Rumble for this one. Since Supply Drops are plentiful in this game mode, you shouldn’t have trouble spotting one as it descends. Grab a ranged rifle and take a few shots at the balloon to mark the challenge off. Deal enough damage, and the drop will plummet straight to the ground and you won’t have to wait ages for it to land.

Eliminations at Salty Springs or Haunted Hills (3)

As with other elimination challenges, this one is easiest to complete in Team Rumble. You’ll be able to respawn, so you won’t need to worry about dying. Simply head to one of the locations and go to town on any enemies you see. We recommend Salty Springs, as it’s more centrally located and tends to get more foot traffic than Haunted Hills.

Healing Challenge

This is a new multi-stage challenge that involves healing yourself with different items. This will probably take a bit to complete, as you’ll first have to take damage without dying and then find and use the particular item the challenge specifies. Here’s the order:

  • Stage 1: Heal with apples (25 pts)
  • Stage 2: Heal with campfires (50 pts)
  • Stage 3: Heal with a Medkit (75 pts)

Again, we recommend going for a match of Team Rumble to finish this one. If you’re stuck on where to find apples, they usually spawn near Lonely Lodge, Retail Row, and Salty Springs. As far as campfires go, you can use either the item version or the game world version. They tend to spawn near pirate camps, so keep your eyepatches peeled.

Visit the furthest North, South, East and West points on the island

It’s time to go on a hike. You’ll have to, quite literally, head to the furthest corners of the map to complete this challenge. You’ll know you’re in the right place when you see a small sign emblazoned with the letter of the direction you’re headed (N for North, etc). Simply approach the sign to mark the location as visited. Check out the map below for the specific spots you’ll be heading to.

Deal Damage to opponents with a Pirate Cannon (100)

Another tricky challenge, this one tasks you with using the new Pirate Cannon weapon. You can find them clustered in pirate camps like the one pictured above, and on the pirate ship at Lazy Lagoon. They’re slow and hard to aim, so we recommend taking a few practice shots to get the hang of the weapon before trying to use it. A direct hit to an enemy will do 100 damage, and a splash damage hit 50 damage, so it should only take a couple solid shots to finish this off. Again, we recommend taking this on in a match of Team Rumble.

Search a Chest in different named locations in a single match (3)

Finally, you’ll have to make your way to 3 different named locations and search a Chest at each one to finish this off. Try to go for less popular locations to increase your chances of finding a chest. Also, consider doing this challenge in a match of Team Rumble. You’ll be able to respawn if you die, so that takes away the pressure of having to stay alive while you’re dashing from place to place.

Strap on your best hiking shoes and keep your medkits handy, and this week’s set will be done in no time. As always, check back with Softonic for weekly challenge updates as the Season progresses.

Alex's first experience with video games came at the tender young age of 12, when his parents gave him and his brothers a PlayStation 2 for Christmas. They’ve probably been regretting that mistake ever since, because as soon he finished his first lap in Gran Turismo 3, Alex was hooked for life. In addition to writing for Softonic, Alex has turned that love of games into a voice acting career, and has voiced everything from grizzled old soldiers to vampire lords. When he's not gaming or getting behind the microphone, Alex can probably be found wandering the woods around Boston or putting together some new culinary delight in his kitchen.
