MGM+ is bringing From back for one last run. The horror-mystery series has been renewed for a fifth and final season, and the network says the closing chapter will premiere in 2027. The show follows people trapped in a small American town they can’t leave, with deadly creatures coming out at night. Season 5 is being set up to answer the biggest questions the series has been holding onto: what the town actually is, why these people are trapped there, and whether anyone can get out.
That 2027 target also puts an end to the earlier talk of a two-part return in fall 2026. Production is now expected to begin in the second half of 2026.
For people who’ve kept up with From, the key part of this update is that MGM+ is committing to a definite ending. The series has always centered on residents stuck in a small American town they can’t escape, where creatures come out after dark, but what keeps people hooked is the combination around that setup: small-town horror, group tension, warped reality, unreliable rules, and a psychological mystery that keeps shifting under your feet. That’s also why fans so often compare From to Stephen King and Philip K. Dick.
From has also turned into one of MGM+’s biggest original series, and it reached an even bigger audience after seasons 1 and 2 arrived on Amazon Prime Video.
John Griffin created the show, with Jack Bender and Jeff Pinkner serving as executive producers. Harold Perrineau, Catalina Sandino Moreno, and Eion Bailey lead a cast that’s regularly praised for the show’s atmosphere and tension, with Perrineau’s grounded performance getting singled out in particular, even as some viewers still wish the story would hand over answers a little faster.
You can watch From on MGM+ in the US, and its first two seasons are also available on Amazon Prime Video.
