Frozen 3 gets its November 2027 release date: Disney shares a first look

Disney has set Frozen 3 for a theatrical release on November 24, 2027, and at D23 the studio finally gave fans a first look at Elsa, Anna, and Kristoff.

There wasn’t a full trailer. What Disney did show included updated designs and new costumes, the kind of early preview that hints at a changing visual style and a story that pushes these characters into a different stage of their lives.

Disney is also making Frozen 3 alongside Frozen 4, which makes one larger story told across two films. If that’s where this is headed, it could finally start answering some of the questions still hanging over Elsa’s powers, and even Prince Hans.

That puts Frozen 3 in line to be one of Disney’s biggest holiday releases. The first two Frozen movies brought in a combined $2.7 billion worldwide at the box office, so it’s not hard to see why this sequel carries so much weight.

If you’ve been waiting for Disney’s next major animated event, this one looks like the obvious contender. Kristen Bell, Idina Menzel, Jonathan Groff, and Josh Gad are all expected to return. Disney has Jennifer Lee overseeing the sequel, with Trent Correy on board as co-director. Gad has also said recording is already underway, called it the funniest entry in the series, and praised two new songs from Robert Lopez and Kristen Anderson-Lopez. You’ll be able to see it in theaters on November 24, 2027.
