Here’s what can actually be confirmed at this point: Frozen 3 is in development for a late 2027 release, Disney is sticking with one of its biggest modern franchises, Kristen Bell, Idina Menzel, Josh Gad, and Jonathan Groff are all widely expected to return as Anna, Elsa, Olaf, and Kristoff, Jennifer Lee has spoken positively about where the story is headed, and Disney has Trent Correy set as co-director.

A lot of the online chatter still belongs in the rumor pile. Talk of a royal wedding, first-look footage, and a new villain is still speculation, since Disney hasn’t put out formal plot details, a full cast announcement tied to the story, or a synopsis explaining the conflict, the villain, or even how Frozen 3 opens.

Concept art shown publicly at D23 and at other Disney events does hint that Elsa and Anna may end up traveling beyond Arendelle again.
