Ghost of Yotei is finished and PlayStation celebrates it with a new trailer

The highly anticipated game, Ghost of Yotei, has reached an important milestone by announcing that it is now Gold, which means its development has concluded and it is ready to be released on October 2nd.

Fans have waited five years since the arrival of Ghost of Tsushima, and now they are preparing to dive back into a world full of samurais and action.

The developer Sucker Punch has expressed their excitement in a post on Bluesky, stating that “we are thrilled to have reached this milestone and cannot wait for everyone to experience the beauty of Ezo.”

The most anticipated game from Sony for the rest of 2025

Despite the fact that the term ‘gold’ historically indicated that a game was completely finished, the addition of current launch patches complicates this concept a bit. Still, this confirmation suggests that no delays are expected before the release.

A new gameplay recording, labeled as “firearms gameplay,” has been released, showcasing Atsu, the protagonist, in an impressive combat sequence that combines the use of firearms and swordsmanship.

The action is so vibrant that it would be comparable to the choreographies of action movies like those of John Wick, which further raises expectations around the gameplay.

Ghost of Yotei is not only the successor to one of the best open-world games in recent years, but it is also suggested that it could benefit from learning lessons from the recent Assassin’s Creed Shadows to improve its design. With this mix of anticipation and interest in gameplay innovations, fans are eager to discover what this new title has to offer at its release in October.
