Android 5.0 Lollipop means the whole suite of Google apps is getting updated, and that includes the Gmail app. As well as a new ‘material design’ look, it will allow you to add Outlook and Yahoo mail accounts for the first time. You can’t get the app yet, but we’ve seen what it will look like via Android Police. Check out the video below.

You’ll be able to switch email accounts by swiping or tapping the account drop-down menu. You won’t get confused about which account you’re viewing, as the interface header will change color for each one. What the video doesn’t show, is how easy it is to add new accounts. Gmail does allow you to import mail from other accounts already, but it’s not a great system, and could be much easier. Hopefully adding Outlook, Yahoo Mail, and other mail accounts to the Gmail 5.0 app will be improved.
You should be able to get ahold of Gmail 5.0 for Android sometime in November.
