Google announced Docs and Sheets would be getting native Office file support last week and now the update is here. Now you can work with your Office documents and spreadsheets without converting them first.
This release arrives after Google announced it would remove Quickoffice from app stores. Google consolidated Quickoffice’s features into Google Docs and Sheets.

Both Docs and Sheets get a makeover. The interface simplified and there are now floating buttons for creating a new document and sheet. The design gives us a preview of Android’s Material Design that’s coming in Android L.
The update to Google Docs and Sheets is rolling out today so check your Google Play app or download them directly below. iOS users will have to wait a bit longer as Google hasn’t announced when this update will arrive for Apple devices.
