Google+ Hangouts On Air allow you to broadcast live video via Google+ and YouTube. Now the service has been updated to include a rewind feature, so your viewers don’t miss anything if they join late. As soon as a Hangout On Air is over it will be processed and available for viewing and sharing too.

This updates make watching Hangouts On Air much more comfortable, and the quality of video on mobile devices has also been improved. Also, when you visit a page with a Hangout on Air embedded, the video will now start as soon as the broadcast does. Before, it was necessary to refresh pages to get the live video working.

While these changes make viewing better, they do slow up starting a broadcast a bit according to Google. The ‘start broadcasting’ button will be greyed out for longer than before.

To use Hangouts On Air, you have to verify your YouTube account, and agree to its terms and services.

Google Hangouts is also rumored to be the name for the upcoming integration of all Google’s messaging and communication services.
