Google hasn’t talked much about Google Shopping and it hasn’t been heavily promoted outside of the app and Google Offers.
Google is now opening invites for Google Shopping Express in the San Francisco Bay Area. The most interesting part of this beta is that it offers a free 6 month membership for same-day delivery.
There’s been a lot of talk about Amazon and same-day delivery in the San Francisco Bay Area with the construction of a local Amazon distribution center, but this is a sign that Google is taking shopping very seriously before Amazon’s construction is complete.
Not much is known about the service so far except that currently a select number of retailers are participating and Google is asking for more in the San Francisco area to take part of this beta test.
