Google Play Store could be coming to BlackBerry 10

BlackBerry 10 could be adding Google Play store compatibility. It’s just a rumor for now, after images were posted on the site CrackBerry, but if it’s true it would mean thousands more apps are available on the BlackBerry eco-system.

The Canadian company has already tried the reverse strategy; offering their BlackBerry Messenger (BBM) service on other platforms. The eventual launch of BBM on Android and iOS was undoubtedly a success. Bringing Android apps to BlackBerry 10 would make the struggling mobile OS much more attractive.

The images posted on CrackBerry show a handset running BlackBerry 10 with Google Play open. We can’t confirm that they are 100% genuine, but it seems unlikely they are faked images. Even if they are real images, this could be simply an internal test at BlackBerry that might never see the light of day.
