If you are one of those forgetful people who never knows where they left the TV remote control, Google TV brings good news for you. This platform, which connects televisions with mobile devices, and provides a wide range of functions to Android TV, will also allow you to locate your remote control for those times when you have lost sight of it.
Locate your lost remote control
As explained by Android Authority, this feature seems to be coming in the Android 14 version for TV, and it would allow users to easily find their remote thanks to the “find my remote” function added to the system. With it, using your mobile as an intermediary (since, without the remote, you can’t activate the search, and if you find it, you no longer need it), the remote will emit an alert for 30 seconds so you can easily locate it.
When you activate this function, the controller will emit a small light that will act as a beacon, or it will emit a beep so that people can easily find said controller. Naturally, not all current controllers offer this type of feedback, so this function would only be available for controllers compatible with this functionality, whether it be with light, sound, or both.

The evolution of Google TV
Since Google started showing interest in the audiovisual field, it has tried to do so through different approaches. In fact, for most of this journey, its most well-known service was Google Play Movies, which, in recent months, merged into a new combination of services along with other services like Google Home: Google TV, thus connecting not only audiovisual content, but also television services with smart devices.
In this way, Google TV has become a tool that has quickly integrated into millions of homes in the blink of an eye, and with constant improvements and updates that arrive little by little. The most recent one is the localization of the remote control, but soon more news will come that only Google knows, and that many users will be eager to know.
