GTA VI extended look already tops Netflix: 31.1 million views

Grand Theft Auto VI: An Extended Look, Rockstar Games’ 27-minute preview of Grand Theft Auto VI, ended up as Netflix’s most-watched title worldwide. According to Netflix’s weekly Top 10 data, it pulled in 31.1 million views from August 27 to 30 and finished the week of August 24-30, 2026 at No. 1 on the service.

Netflix had Grand Theft Auto VI: An Extended Look to itself for only six hours before Rockstar Games posted the preview on YouTube. Even with that short exclusive window, it still ranked first in 87 of the 93 countries Netflix tracks. Reports also linked the debut to a brief Netflix outage, a 35% spike in concurrent usage, and a 24% jump in app downloads.

The business side looks just as big. Grand Theft Auto VI pre-orders reportedly climbed 572% compared with the previous 30-day average, and M Science estimated that the bump added a few hundred thousand new orders worldwide.

The video includes new cutscenes, combat, and gameplay for Jason and Lucia in Vice City. If you’ve been following Grand Theft Auto VI, this is probably one to watch, since it gives the clearest look yet at the game before its November 19, 2026 launch.
