Harry Potter returns to theaters this August: all 8 films are back worldwide

Warner Bros. has confirmed that all eight Harry Potter films are heading back to theaters worldwide from August 27 through September 3, 2026, for a limited 25th-anniversary run.

The global rerelease is timed to Back to Hogwarts and covers the entire saga , from Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone through Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 2. It also serves as a reminder of how big the franchise still is in theaters: Warner Bros. says more than $7.7 billion worldwide. Tickets go on sale July 31 , Harry Potter’s birthday, which is a nice touch.

Screenings of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone will also include 12 minutes of previously unseen behind-the-scenes footage, according to Warner Bros. That gives fans a real reason to go back to the movie that kicked off the series in 2001.
