A new leak has put HONOR’s rumored Robot Phone back in the conversation today, this time with talk of a 200MP 4D gimbal robotic camera and the kind of specs you’d expect from a real flagship.
If the report holds up, this looks a lot more like a serious high-end Android phone than some flashy concept device. The headline feature is a 200MP main camera mounted on a 4D gimbal robotic arm, which could actually move in ways standard optical and electronic stabilization can’t, helping with shake reduction and subject tracking. The same leak also points to a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chip. Beyond that, the phone is said to pack a 50MP ultra-wide, a 200MP periscope telephoto, and even a reported imaging partnership with ARRI. Add in a 6.3- to 6.4-inch 1.5K flat display and a battery around 6,000mAh, and it starts to sound like a fairly compact flagship aimed straight at creators and people who shoot a lot of video on their phones.
If camera hardware is what gets your attention, this one looks like it could be worth keeping an eye on. Still, a lot depends on the details that haven’t been nailed down yet: price, global release plans, durability, how much that camera system affects battery life, the actual size in hand, long-term reliability, and whether the photo and video gains show up outside a spec sheet.
For now, there’s nothing to download or try. HONOR’s Robot Phone is still just a leaked Android device.
