Facebook Timeline has gotten mixed reviews among users. Some people love it for its visual appeal and organizational style. Others loathe the change, and were quick  to take advantage of James’ tutorial on how to remove Facebook Timeline from your profile.

For those of you who love it, why not make a movie out of it? Timeline Movie Maker lets you do just that, allowing you to commemorate your favorite pictures, videos and events in a short and snappy film you can share with family and friends.

Best of all, Timeline Movie Maker is easy to use and gives you full directorial control to ensure your movie comes out just as you want it!

Making and sharing your movie

First, visit Timeline Movie Maker’s website. Click the green “Make Your Movie” button. From there, you’ll be prompted to sign into Facebook if you haven’t already done so. If you’re already logged in, the app should start creating your movie immediately.

Timeline Movie Maker creates your Facebook Timeline movie by pulling videos and images directly from your Facebook page. If you like what you see, simply click “SHARE” and Timeline Movie Maker will post a link to your video onto your Facebook wall. Friends and family can click on the link and load your custom video directly from a new tab in their browsers.

Customizing your movie

If you want to tweak your movie a little, Timeline Movie Maker offers a lot of customization options.

You can give your movie a soundtrack. Once you movie is finished playing one time through, you can choose between five options: Original, Nostalgic, Cinematic, Romantic and Playful. Each soundtrack has a little play button underneath it so you can preview the music before adding it to your video as well.

Next, pick out the images and video you want showing up throughout the movie. With a scrolling format, Timeline Movie Maker lets you browse through all of the images and videos it automatically chose for you so you can change them to your liking. You can even choose media from different Facebook albums to get a truly personalized feel.

Click the green “Save Changes” button once you’re satisfied, and Timeline Movie Maker will create a new video for you to evaluate. You can make as many changes as you like until you’re happy with what you have. Note that if you choose a video clip with sound, that music will override the Timeline Movie Maker soundtrack, just for the length of time the movie is focusing on that particular clip.

Once complete, you can share the video on Facebook in the same manner you would if you’d opted for the default movie above.

Give Timeline Movie Maker a try and let us know what you think of the results!
