With iOS 18, Apple Maps becomes a surprisingly powerful ally for planning your next getaway. Thanks to improved search tools and the updated Guides feature, you can now organize your entire itinerary directly from your iPhone, making it easier than ever to keep everything in one place. Whether you’re exploring a new city or returning to a favorite destination, Apple Maps offers a smarter way to prepare.
Build personalized guides in just a few taps
Creating a guide is simple. Start by opening Apple Maps and searching for a location you’d like to visit. Once found, tap “More” and select “Add to Guides” to start curating your trip. You can either add to an existing guide or tap the “+” icon to create a new one.
Customize your trip with photos and names
To make your guide more memorable, give it a unique name and even add a photo from your camera roll for visual flair. This is especially useful if you’re planning to share it later with friends or family.
Keep your entire itinerary organized
Once your guide is created, you can begin adding spots—restaurants, landmarks, museums, parks, or even hidden gems. Each saved location lives within your guide, so you’re not jumping between apps or forgetting important stops.
Discover more with improved search
Apple’s updated search now suggests places with greater accuracy, helping you find attractions, food spots, and local experiences more intuitively. These improvements ensure you’re always one step ahead, even in unfamiliar destinations.
With these tools in iOS 18, vacation planning becomes more visual, interactive, and tailored to your needs, all without leaving the Maps app.
