Hypixel confirms that its emphasis on mods for Hytale is not a coincidence: they want to hire the best modders

Hypixel has announced an exciting modding contest for its highly anticipated title, Hytale, which will allow 65 winners to access a six-figure prize pool.
This initiative aims not only to encourage the creativity of the modding community but also to establish a closer bond between developers and players, something that its founder, Simon Collins-Laflamme, considers essential for the future of the game.
They want to sign you up (if you are a good modder)
Collins-Laflamme recently stated that the modding community will serve as a fundamental basis for the development of Hytale. Unlike other developers, Hypixel has hired more than 70 people from this community, creating an agile and talented team that is not limited by typical corporate hierarchies.
This choice reflects an innovative approach where all team members are actively involved in the game’s development.
The premise of Hytale, a mod-friendly game, means that there are already thousands of modifications available on platforms like CurseForge. This will allow players to transform the game in surprising ways, expanding its universe with the help of collective creativity.
Collins-Laflamme has pointed out that modders are not expected to carry the game on their own, but their work can offer learning opportunities and possible collaboration with the developers.
Additionally, the work culture promoted by Hypixel emphasizes that those in the community who create exceptional content can be removed, in the best sense, to become part of the team.
In this way, Hypixel stays connected with its most passionate player base, which can be beneficial in the long run. With a clear direction towards growing the game’s potential through modulation, Hytale is shaping up to be a product that could evolve significantly after its release.
